Larry Jaffe is one of the nation’s greatest poets and Poet laureates. Not flattery…just a fact. His works are assembled with Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez, Last Poets, Haki, Jessica Care Moore, etc., among Malcolm X unpublished poetry writings. ~~ Gregory J. Reed, Curator Malcolm X Autobiography and Unpublicized Chapters
Like all of Larry Jaffe’s poetry, the words are tools to tell the story. He offers hope out of the morass we call life. ONLY THE SHADOWS BREATHE is a unique and heady blend of poetry and detective fiction – poetry noir if you will – and I loved it. ~~ Harlen Coben, Novelist
